Using acrylic on cotton duck canvas, primed with acrylic paint by a mélange of raw umber, ochre jaune and gesso as the base and then using the same technique of mixing umber with other paints such as red and blue to create the hue on the horse by sponge brushes and textured sponges, exploring the theme of “animals at leisure” as seen the horse is at ease in a field.
